Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I have some experience working with horses, having attended workshops at Summerhouse Equestrian Centre when younger. I am fully capable of maintaining stables and preparing feeds as directed. I am confident in my ability to groom and maintain the horse’s hygiene.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I am a confident individual, happy to work alone to complete tasks, though I am an excellent team player also. I maintain an excellent standard of cleanliness for the animals and their environments. I work efficiently, and methodically, and will prioritise accordingly. I would declare myself an expert plaiter, being the person all friends would come to for such hairstyles.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I am an animal person, I grew up on a family farm, where everyone chipped in to look after the animals. I feel most at home when I’m in a farm/yard environment. Particularly with horses, I love the companionship they provide, and the freedom they bring. They’re such intelligent creatures, and part of the family.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to develop my grooming skills for competitions, and gain more experience handling a range of horses, such as stallions/young horses.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am motivated and proactive, you will not need to direct me on every task needed, I am capable of identifying areas and resolving issues myself. I am a quick learner, and where my skills need developing, I am dedicated and eager. I am flexible and adaptable, there is very little I am not willing to do or learn. I am responsible, I will always be on time and prepared to work hard.
