Experience with Horses
I have various experiences on multiple profession yards, sales yards, showjumping yards and breaking yards. My work on these yards included, mucking out, feeding, filling nets/waters, tack cleaning, bathing horses, exercising horses (riding, lunging, long-reining), turning out/bringing in and grooming at stay away competitions.
I have had horses my whole life and I have backed a few horses and produced many.
I have my own freelance business where I ride peoples horses for them, I do holiday cover on yards/yard work regularly if needed and I also house/horse/dog sit.
Key Skills
I am good at being left in sole charge of yards as that’s what I am used to regularly, I can also work well in a team. I am good at clipping, plaiting, handling and riding horses. I am used to horses with quirks so I like to believe I am quite good at riding sharper/young horses.
I am a reliable and commited worker who isn’t afraid of a challenge.
Strengths and Weaknesses
•What do you most enjoy about working with horses? I enjoy how rewarding it is, no matter how long it takes to get to the rewarding part.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve? I would like to improve the amount of experience I have, although I’ve worked on afew yards I think having more experience will help me improve over all further.
•Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker? I am committed and hard working. I am a quick learner and I am trusted to manage yards of over 20 horses regularly.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job? I would like to gain valuable experience in the industry and I would like a position where I have the opportunity to ride.
• Do you need accommodation? Yes.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you? Not requirements but I would like my own horse to be considered.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments? No.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of? Yes.
