Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I currently compete my own horse at novice/2* level and have experience handling fit competition horses, Im hard working, have great initiative and turn out to a high standard, i’m able to carry out all general yard duties and have experience working with a range of different horses including eventers/showjumpers/hunters/ex-racehorses etc, having most recently worked on a livery yard helping to produce a number of the clients young horses.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I excel working in a team in a fast paced environment but an equally as happy working alone. I have great communication skills from having worked on a busy livery yard and interacting and liaising with clients. I completed my A levels in a very technology heavy school so am happy using word/excel/office 356 etc.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I’m incredibly driven, I got my first part time job at 15 and from then continued working part time along side education until I finished school and began to work full time. I’m a quick learner with a lot of key transferable skills from working on a busy livery yard such as; communicating with clients, organising delivery of feeds/hay, managing the yard when required and delegating jobs to fellow employees.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would like to continue working in something horse related but not as a groom/rider instead something more office based. I’d like to work more regular hours to allow myself to have the time back to enjoy my own horse but don’t wish to step away from horses entirely
