Experience with Horses
I have over 15 years experience working in the industry. I am a professional rider, competing abroad in Grand Cayman at the equivalent of BD Elementary and training in Advanced Medium level. I am from Ireland and have worked in a dressage competition yard in the UK for several years.
I school, exercise and train horses ridden and in hand and take part in clinics regularly with 3/4/5* judges.
Currently coaching children and adults too.
I can groom, clip, pull manes, bandage, mucking out, tack up, lunge, plait, and turn out to high standard.
I am looking for a rider role, happy to take on some yard duties and manager role.
Training a must and possibility to bring own horse, however this isn’t a necessity.
Key Skills
I am good at working from my own initiative, I can work alone and as part of a team. I have a fun, can do attitude, friendly and work hard. I’m good at schooling young and established horses and can turn out to a high standard.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I love the connection and harmony that can exist between horses and us.
I enjoy schooling and test riding most of all as aspects of my career. But love the sense of ease and enjoyment that these amazing animals bring.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
Riding, I believe there we never know enough and should always be learning, and training to better our connection with the horse and to better understand them.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I give 110% to my job, I work off my initiative and do my outmost to make sure horses under my care are healthy and happy. I will aspire to continuously learn, improve in my training and work tirelessly to ensure a harmonious connection with the them in hand and in ridden work and care for them in there time off.
