Experience with Horses
I have grown up with hoses and spent many years working in the equine industry. I studied and completed a level 3 diploma in equine management after which I was employed as a polo groom for multiple yers before heading off travelling to South Africa, then Namibia where I volunteered with horses in both instances to gain further experience. I have worked with a range of high class horses with diverse needs and am incredible efficient in handling a wide variety of duties including but not limited to: mucking out, riding, turning out, grooming, tacking up, taking care of injuries (e.g. applying a poultice, using equine spa and salt room etc), plaiting, trimming and clipping etc all to a very high standard.
Key Skills
Trustworthy/reliable – I have been trusted to care for horses and their wellbeing every day without support and have proven I am extremely reliable in these positions of responsibility.
Cooperative – I follow instruction well and always work to the best of my ability with the aim to please.
Independence – I have an exceptional ability to work well when alone and consistently remain focused on the task but am not afraid to seek out help why finding a task challenging.
Diligence – I persistently work to the best of my ability and don’t fall down at the first hurdle however am prepared to ask for assistance if I’m struggling with the task at hand.
Organised – I have continuously managed to juggle multiple responsibilities and manage my workload while staying on top of what is required of me, whilst still ensuring everything I do is completed to a high standard.
All yard duties – have worked on many professional yards where I’ve developed these skills
Plaiting – studied a plaiting and turnout unit during my diploma
Bandaging – spent multiple years on a polo yard bandaging many horses a day
Horse health and welfare – developed through multiple years of studying and working on yards
Natural Horsemanship – Spent a month Volunteering on a natural horsemanship stud in Namibia developing my skills.
