  1. Experience with Horses

I have been riding since I was 4 yrs old at my local riding school; I started helping out there aged 9 at weekends, building in experience and responsibilities to become a paid employee at aged 14, with a sole charge role from aged 16. Whilst at the riding school I was involved in breaking in youngsters for the school, exercising/schooling the school horses and liveries, and assisting in teaching beginner lessons/pony days. Whilst I was a student I worked on livery yards (sole charge), with event horses and helped to run summer pony club camps at Witham Villa Riding School in 2017. Since completing my studies I’ve work on professional yards with roles including some managerial responsibilities including stock taking, coordinating the yard diary between liveries, yard owner and riders, organising the farrier, dealing with and assisting the vet and ordering hay/shavings. Also I have been a groom/instructor at a local riding school with responsibilities including supervising and training the apprentice and weekend helpers and taking bookings and dealing with inquires over the phone. Currently I am freelancing on a range of yards, which helps to provide me with a diversity of experience and allows me to be adaptable and think on my feet.

I’m a confident rider, with experience riding horses of all shapes and sizes. Currently schooling at elementary level and jump 1m (SJ and XC). Experience competing own horses in dressage, ODE and some showing. I have an Extended Diploma in Horse Management at Moreton Morrell (top grade) and my BHS Stage 3 (ride, care & lunge) and my Stage 2 Teach.
