Experience with Horses
I am a hard working bubbly individual. Very confident when it comes to making decisions, sole change, and in a crisis if one ever arises.
I have my own self produced mare that I enjoy doing a variety of things with including eventing, team chasing and showjumping.
Also currently breaking in my 3year old to produce.
Regularly drive a 3.5t lorry and very keen to take my HGV test having already taken
my medical before covid took over.
EXPERIENCE
Upper Farm Henton — 2015 – 2018
5* livery yard. My roles included caring for 15 liveries
and managing other members of staff.
I was in charge of all feeds and supplements including keeping supplies topped up through orders.
I exercised many of the horses at owners requests including the PSG dressage horses, jumping the Advanced Medium horses to give them a variety in their work and taking the eventers to the gallops to keep them git for competition
Freelance Groom – 2018 – 2023
I had four regular yards that I tended to ranging from a natural livery yard that runs on a track system. This is a whole new concept for me so I have been open
minded learning their way of doing things.
My other theee yards were private homes having horses ranging from retired horses to current eventers and showjumpers.
I was their only groom so I cared for twelve on one yard and three on another, keeping the horses fit for the owners and their daughters so that they can compete when the season is open. I have dealt with the vet visits and assisted with rehabs, dealt with colicking horses.
I covered the entire yard for both clients if they ever go away on holiday, summer or winter and keep everything running smoothly.
Organising farrier and vet visits to coincide with the horses routines so they remain
happy.
I also worked at Broughton Stud assisting with the stallions, broodmares and youngstock. Also helping with turnout for shows at the highest level
GHR – July 2023 – present.
I am currently a groom on a family yard dealing with young point to point horses and their family hacking horses.
This includes keeping the horses happy and healthy, work riding and keeping on top of yard chores so that it is immaculate all of the time.
