Experience with Horses


  • Extensive work with young horses and stallions
  • Night shift foaling attendant
  • Sole technician in charge of four large animal veterinarians in a busy rural mixed practice
  • Embryo transfer laboratory duties including recovering and grading embryos, set-up and running of cryo-chamber and official record keeping
  • In clinic laboratory duties incorporating blood work (manual and using computerized hematology systems), fecals, urinalysis, parasite identification, preparation of tissue samples for evaluationEquine veterinary technician/surgical nurse
  • Surgical nursing duties encompassing all aspects of large animal surgery, theater and instrument preparation, ensuring adherence to safety protocols throughout surgery with particular focus during induction and recovery
  • Set up and assist in radiology, ultrasound, CT scans, MIR and nuclear scintigraphy
  • Pre/post op and inpatient nursing care
  • Trained in office management for large client accounts
