Experience with Horses

Been riding all my life. Brought up through the pony club before starting a 18 year career playing polo. This involved breaking ponies, playing young ones and playing all over the world. I gave up polo bought a couple of OTT thoroughbreds and started eventing again. I also teamchased, hunted and show jumped them whilst running a polo club of 120 horses and 8 grooms.

Whilst travelling abroad I worked as a polo groom in Nz for a high goal patron. Sole charge of 11 horses including playing them and schooling. In Australia I was at a club with two other players. Between the 3 of us we had 55 horses to work. We played every day grooming for ourselves or each other when able to.

When I returned from travelling I took a short term job at an eventing stud which included, schooling and hacking the stallions (both showjumping and dressage), hacking schooling and hunting the youngsters and handling foals. I have also worked as a hunt groom on a private yard with 6 horses hunting twice a week.

For the last 5 years I have worked as a vet nurse and then moved on to be Practice Manager of my brother Equine Veterinary Practice. I have a huge amount of experience in all things equine veterinary and handling all types of horses. Whilst working my full time job I have also ridden for a local yard specifically bringing on young horses, schooling, competing and producing them for sale.
