– Completed ABRS Equitation test numbers 1-6, ABRS Stable Management test numbers 1-4, Pony Club certificates…

– Working at a riding school, including assisting with lessons, overseeing, and supporting learning towards proficiency exams.

-Working in a livery yard where I have been responsible for 35+ horses, including mucking out, basic first aid, turnout, feeds, etc.…

-Exercise rider for Sales Livery yard.

-Work experience with Kelly Marks and Monty Roberts – Intelligent Horsemanship.

-Studied at Hartpury College L3 Horse Management.

-I have owned my horses for 12+ years and work alongside my livery yard owner to assist current liveries with schooling, lunging, clipping, and handling foals and youngstock.

-Administer prescribed medication, including inhalers

-keep horses fit- change feed/ ridden programmes to maintain condition and weight

-Basic first aid- both human and animal. Knowledgeable of signs and symptoms to look out for

-Manage feed and bedding stock levels

-Backing and breaking, bringing on young horses

-Follow worming programmes or egg counts

-Organising routine feet/ teeth/ back appointments

-Ensure that health and safety procedures are followed

-Check for ill-fitting tack or rugs and amend as appropriate

-I have high expectations of others around me and can often feel disheartened when they are not met

-Learn how I can take my grooming skills to an even higher standard

-Work on saying no to helping others when my workload is overwhelming

-More experience in the different branches of the equine industry that will help me progress to my dream job of opening my yard to perform ‘Equine Assisted Therapy.’

-University with a timetable that changes twice between September and June. I am up at 5:30 daily to assist the current yard owner before work (8 am) or uni at 9 am.

  • Monday- 9-4:15 at university.
  • Wednesday- 9-12:15 at university.
  • Friday- 9-13:15 at university.
