Experience with Horses
5 years experience at a rescue centre with ponies, horses donkeys aswell as other farm animals. All companions/youngsters/retired.
18 months at a livery Yard with eventers, happy hackers, showjumpers and ponies. Some schooling, lunging and hacking out.
5 years on a family hunting/ polo yard. Sole charge of 8 hunters and 7 polo ponies (not all in at once) All duties, care, hacking, schooling, record keeping etc. Providing second horses for a senior master and going to polo matches with the youngest son.
Key Skills
I am avoid team player and can work well with others which I have demonstrated in the rescue setting and whilst grooming at polo matches. But I am also able to work well on my own as I have been the only groom through the hunt season for 5 seasons. I can cope well in an emergency and under pressure and I work efficiently to a high standard.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• I enjoy the attention to detail working with horses and getting to know their individual personalities.
• I have a wide range of experience in the equestrian world and I am always looking for ways to improve my skills. I am easy going and easy to work with, can take direction well and can work well under pressure.
