Experience with Horses

1978—1981 . Employed as a Groom for Roger & Cherry Clark ,Weylands Farm Stoke by Nayland. the job involved lots of breaking of heavy and light horses. showing of heavy horses at county shows and advertising around the UK with single/pairs and teams.

1981—1985. Groom/Head lad at Cricket st Thomas Heavy horse Centre. Again the role involved showing at county level, promoting the centre, giving rides for visitors.

1985—1991. Assistant horse man at Bass brewery, Stoke on Trent. This job involved lots of organising as we were often away with horses for long periods of time within the UK and abroad advertising the brewery and showing. I would be responsible for braiding/preparing shire horses and there harness for the task in hand.

1991—1994 Working at Stoke on Trent Gardens Heavy horse centre. This involved the day to day welfare of 7/8 heavy horses. Breaking and training of heavy and light horses.

1994—2017 I was self employed. breaking and staring all sorts of horses. During this time i was also riding out racehorses. Driving horses to different events within the UK and aboard.

I Have a full driving licence and class 1 HGV.
