Â
May 2016 – May 2019
Monty’s Equestrian Centre LTD, Holland-on-Sea
This volunteering role has involved attention to both the animals and customers. In this role I have dealt with everyday tasks at an equine centre such as mucking out, turning out, cleaning and checking the horses. I have also been able to help with the care of the customers such as teaching riding skills to known clients and leading the clients when needed. It has also involved caring and looking after children during pony club days. In addition, I have helped with the business side of the centre helping to review previous statements, controlling the social media and handling payments. This has helped in skills with encouraging and caring for children, Equine skills and business skills.

University of Derby Horse Riding – Vice President
While being the University of Derby Horse Riding Vice President I have been able to develop my organisational skills to arrange taxis and lessons for those in need. It has also helped me to develop leadership skills and allowed my confidence to grow.

Â
July 2016
Naankuse, Namibia
This was a two-week volunteering placement in conservation, specifically the research and conservation of Namibia’s land, culture and wildlife. It included completing wildlife tracking, animal walks which ensure they release energy and have interaction with the environment so they may be released and animal care and feeding. These improved skills with GPS, observational and practical skills, communication and explanation skills (especially with people with a very limited grasp of English).
June 2012
Rolph C of E Primary School, Thorpe-Le-Soken
After completing work experience at this school I then returned a year later to continue working with the children as I enjoyed the tasks and experience given. This allowed me to develop and work on the skills I have gained from working with children such as encouraging them, helping develop their skills and care for them if they were ill or sick.
June 2011
Rolph C of E Primary School, Thorpe-Le-Soken
As a work experience student I worked here for two weeks. It improved my social skills in a working environment through working as a team. I was also able to take on assisting the children who needed more attention and help with their work out of the classroom to focus on their needs.
