Experience with Horses

To Whom it may concern,

I am excited to apply for a live in position as a dressage rider/groom. I am an up-and-coming dressage trainer and groom  looking to continue my education, and pursue my passion for horses and the sport of Dressage. With my extensive experience in the riding, handling, management  and care of elite competition horses I believe I would be a valuable addition to your team. My previous positions have afforded me a versatile skill set, allowing me to excel at:

  • Riding all variety of horses (Training young horses, warming up and schooling advanced horses, rehabbing from injuries, reschooling horses with training problems, competing)
  • Grooming at competitions and at home (grooming, plaiting, bandaging, handling young and difficult horses)
  • Barn management (managing and ordering feeds, supplies and medication, administering 1st aid, assisting vet and farrier)
  • Coaching (giving lessons to beginners and advanced riders alike)

A native Canadian, I am thrilled to have relocated to the UK  with my partner (a UK citizen) in 2021. In addition to my practical experience, my fierce passion for horses and the equine industry make me an ideal candidate for the position. I am hard working and diligent with an eye for detail, and will always put the horses’ well being as my top priority. My love for horses is what keeps me going, even on long busy days or stressful nights staying up with a sick horse.

Thank you for your consideration, attached is my resume and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Claire Ploughman
