Laboratory Assistant
After completing my college course, I worked for G W Topham & Son on a temporary harvest contract. The main part of my role was in the laboratory where I would test crop samples and record data onto excel spreadsheets. I also booked in lorries and contacted customers by telephone with any queries as necessary.
Stockman
Dingley dell pork is a 1,000 breeding herd of pigs. I was working in the farrowing and dry sow area of the farm, where I was managing stock, feeding, serving pigs via AI, maintaining the heath of the herd, I was also doing a lot of tractor work from feeding to straw carting. The job was part of my work experience for my BTEC agriculture qualification.
I also have experience showing cattle so have lots of experience grooming/washing/ plaiting. I have so much experience with every type of livestock from cattle to sheep to poultry. I have limited horse experience however before Covid I was getting back into riding again so I can do basic tacking up I’m very good at mucking out and love working outside.
