Experience with horses:
– grew up around horses.
-rode ponies competitively in showjumping and cross country.
-broken in and produced a late starter pony.
-worked on private racing yard, currently work part time in Evan Williams racing
– solely retrained horses on said private racing yard and organised sale and rehoming as necessary.
– trained a total of 5 horses for 2 separate seasons. 3 of which were my own.
-owned and trained 2 pointers, sadly for financial reasons could not race as planned however I wished to ride them myself.
-solved issues of multiple problem horses and helped riders overcome confidence issues with their horse.
-broken my TB into a harness as well as broken ponies into cart.
-taught confidence lessons for children.
Covering all yard duties on my current racing yard whilst still getting 8 lots ridden.
-Previously stabled at a stud yard and regularly handled flighty Arabian broodmares.
Some horses I have worked with are pictured below. You can see my turnout and how I have produced each horse and what they do. You can also check out my Instagram and tiktok @cross.country_kacey for more pictures.
Key Skills
working alone, working as a team, clipping, plaiting, and turning out to high standard for shows, and handling/riding/breaking young horses to name a few. I work efficiently, overcome problems, and can assist in first aid towards horses.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• I enjoy riding the more excitable horses. I don’t mind something that bucks/rears/bolts.
•I am quick with floor duties, so I can make the morning work fly by with simple multitasking
• UK Driving license
• I wish to get my HGV license.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I have always been a diverse rider. I can jump on a quirky racehorse up the gallops, and the same day quietly ride the nervous breakers. I can school over show jumps well or fit some flatwork education in. I am also good at fixing behavioural problems both on the ground and ridden. It is probably my favourite thing to do, as I love to see the transformations of the horses I work with.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
more experience with horses as no one stops learning! All I want is a fun and friendly atmosphere within the workplace.
• Do you need accommodation?
Accommodation is required however if more on the local side I can remain home.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
It would be far more ideal to bring my horse with me to the yard I work at, to save time so I can work more hours and not have to commute.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
My horse would be my only commitment, apart from my partner who I would like to be able to invite to visit me if my work brings me away from home.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
A weeks holiday on the 9th May 2024
