Experience with Horses
I have spent my life with horses, including 7 years as a groom in a dressage and hunting yard showing a great attention to detail and care for all the horses I looked after. This included working closely with the vets and farrier including spotting health/injuries and taking the relevant actions.
I currently have a dressage cob working and competing medium level at home who I have trained myself.
I worked on a care farm which was the family business, I was responsible for running a pedigree goat herd, completing all the record keeping and maintaining the health on the herd. I have my vet meds qualifications where I am able to inject IM and Subcutaneous. I also have experience helping out when needed with the commercial calve unit and have experience of dealing with sheep and alpacas too.
I have qualifications where I have been a recognised tutor with ‘Highfield and OCNWMR’ awarding bodies where I delivered courses in animal care, health and safety, horticulture and life skills.
I am computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft programmes.
I also hold a certificate in Health and Safety level 3.
I am competent of towing a trailer, currently drive a 3.5 tonne lorry and have previously owned and driven a 7.5tonne lorry.
Key Skills
I am reliable, hard working, I can clip, plait and turnout to a high standard, I have experience as a competition groom and also sole charge of the yard when at home, I have experience of dealing with vets and farriers on a regular basis and have a good understanding of equine first aid and treatments.
I have a keen interest in schooling and have previously brought on young cobs and given them a correct basis and education.
I have a interest in natural horsemanship and have worked with nervous scared youngsters plus several horses that have been difficult to load.
Requirements
If relocating accommodation onsite would be amazing, I have my own cob and a well behaved dog.
