Opportunity for professional person in park settting with great facilities including walker, solarium, all weather arena. We are looking for a professional groom with previous experience in a competition yard. We have 8 top class competition ponies from 14-15.2h. They mostly compete in WHP and event. The skills that are important to us are;
Happy to work along side me on all of the below and communicate with me when I’m away at shows. This is the ultimate supporting role as during the summer months I can be away from the yard up to 4 days a week. I basically need someone that can do all the jobs that I would do when I’m not here!!
Being organised, tidy and able to prioritise tasks, monitor feed and hay supplies and make orders.
Being a good communicator and able to work along side other team members
Ability to drive a 7.5 ton truck
Solid stable management skills including bandages skills and spotting an issue such as colic or lameness.
Working along side our physio to complete exercises between visits
Turn out skills to include plaiting
packing and unpacking the lorries for competition
Being confident hacking and riding on the gallops, however no schooling work required.
Enjoy working with young riders to give them the best chance of success in a happy environment.
We are amazingly lucky to have another brilliant staff member so there is not too much physically hard grind but need someone with attention to detail that can organise and will work with the team to create a happy safe yard when I’m away at competitions.
There is single person accommodation available in a large double bedroom. Current groom lives out.
5 day week, 20 days holiday plus bank holiday’s in lieu. Package dependant on experience and accommodation £350- 420 p/w.
