| One of the world’s most successful show jumpers and trainers is now looking for an experienced Groom/Exercise Rider (optional) to add to his team.
As an Olympic gold medallist, dual European champion, triple Hickstead Derby winner who has jumped on over 100 Nations Cup teams and won over 50 major Grand Prix this position requires a professional horse person, someone with prior, demonstrable experience of performance horse grooming to a very high level. Competency handling all ages of high-value horses is essential.
The employer’s children are now following in their father’s footsteps showing exceptional talent and skill in pony classes (between them they have won several national titles and championships.) You will need to be comfortable in a professional but family situation knowing when to step up and when to step back. There could be exercise riding involved in the role (possibly more over time), but you will need to be a seriously competent rider.
Would consider someone from another discipline but would need to be operating at the level described and willing to make the transition with enthusiasm. The Riders spend 90% of the year on the road at events across Europe and America, climbing the ranks and finding special horses to keep this talented family competing at the top level. The yard trains a talented stable of 10 to 15 horses at any given time at the top level of showjumping sport. The support team at home consists of top grooms and managers ensuring the horses are cared for to the highest standard. Each rider and horse are mentored, trained and has shows planned for the development of the combination. A very exciting team to be a part of but would only suit someone happy to embrace the lifestyle and earn their part in the team for this top-level facility.
