Do you love horses and have a passion for the sport of Eventing? Do you enjoy working to professional standards? Do you want to progress your own riding?
Talented event rider with a string of ‘self-produced’ event horses, (ranging from 3yo to CCI4*) is now looking for a keen right-hand person to join them on the next leg of their journey which is towards an ambitious & exciting future.
As a motivated junior Groom on their way up, you will have some experience of performance horses & youngstock (in a paid role), but be hungry to learn more and gain quality 1:1 training. Whilst this position is on an eventing yard, someone from other disciplines would be considered but must have a keen interest in eventing. 😉
You will work alongside the Rider in caring for their horses daily and you should be able to lunge, be happy to assist with starting young horses (from the ground, full training given)and ideally able to confidently hack young competition horses. The role includes all normal yard duties – mucking out, haying, feeding, cleaning tack, putting horses on the walker, bathing and the general care of horses. Applicants should be able to turn out to a reasonable standard (plaiting, clipping etc.) Each horse is treated as an individual and receives the highest standard of care.
This is generally a 6-day week position in season but out of season, there will be some flexibility on this. Also, whilst this is a live-out position, if you are from outside the area, assistance can be given to help you locate suitable accommodation 🙂
