This is a brand new 5* Livery Yard and Training Centre in North Yorkshire set on the edge of the stunning North York Moors National Park. Opening in Summer 2022, offering top quality livery and training services with the uniqueness of a small, family friendly yard environment. The horses are our top priority and with 16 stables on a full livery basis, we offer tailored packages to suit our clients and their horse’s needs.
Our fantastic facilities include:
– 60 x 40 sand / fibre / wax outdoor arena with full course of Jump4Joy fences
– 16 stables
– Horse wash area with hot water shower and solarium
– Yard building including kitchen / lounge, toilet / shower changing facilities, tack room with individual tack lockers, washing room including equine washing machine, drying room with rug dryers
– Undercover winter turnout areas
– 18 acres of grazing paddocks
– Excellent off road hacking
Minimum Requirements
We are looking for a yard assistant to support our yard manager in the day–to–day running of the yard to a high standard, as well as organising the hire of yard facilities. You will have the opportunity to be part of setting up a brand new yard with top class facilities. You will have previous experience of working with horses, ideally on a professional yard. You must be confident handling fit competition horses as well as young horses. Some riding may be available but this is not a key part of this role.
Key responsibilities include:
– Mucking / skipping out
– Turnout / bring in / rug changing
– Poo picking
– Feeding
– Clipping / trimming / pulling / grooming
– Bandaging
– Competition preparation including plaiting
– Injury care, administering medications and first aid
– Tack cleaning
– Assisting vets / farrier / physios etc.
– Exercising (horse walker, lunging, hacking and schooling) (Note: some riding may be available for right applicant but not integral to role)
– Ordering yard supplies and managing arena hire
– Travel to local or national shows

– Solid previous experience with horses (with good references) and extensive knowledge
– Confident handling fit competition / young horses
