Experience with Horses

Owned horses for 4 years this year. Previously owned a 2016 Traditional cob who I reschooled after injury. Currently own a yearling filly! Shown to a high level: County shows and Best of Breed Shows (TOYS TGCA). Stabled Previously at a stud helping out with duties until moved before GCSEs for somewhere quieter while studying! Worked at a Riding School for 2 years, mucking out 15-20 horses out a day on both straw and shaving beds to a very high standard which were checked after while tacking up for children’s lessons. Also, groomed for multiple show horses including welsh cobs and plaited ponies. Can ride to a high standard but have had a month off due to selling my ridden show cob!

Key Skills

My key skills are the ability to work both independently and within a group. I can handle young horses and stallions due to previous stabling yard. Can clip, groom and bath to a very high standard! Understand complex instructions of a 40 horse yard turnout routine. Ridden work: can confidently hack and school, jumping work need work if ridden was within the apprenticeship.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

They’ve helped me get through my troubles in life as I lost my mum in 2020. I now would like to get my qualifications and continue to work with them to a high standard.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

Grooming skills on different breeds, there is always something that can be perfected!

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

Very hard working and determined, catching 4 busses a day to enable to get to where yearling is stabled. Know to many as one of the kindest people going, will help anyone to a degree.

Requirements

More equine skills and knowledge but also a friendly network of people!

• Do you need accommodation?

Yes if too far to travel daily!

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
