Hello!

I am looking for a role to utilise the knowledge and skills I gained over the course of my degree. With a solid foundation in Equine Science, garnered through my undergraduate studies, I am driven by a passion for research and a commitment to continuous learning. My academic journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of equine physiology, behaviour, and management, while also fostering a robust skill set in scientific inquiry and analysis.
I have a particular interest in the reproductive sector, gaining experience working at a top UK showjumping stud, although with my horse we are more interested in keeping all 4 feet on the ground!

I am open minded to a variety of positions, I would be interested in anything that continues to teach me and allows me to follow my passion of working with horses.

October 2024 – Present: Warehouse Operative at Allotment Productions

Duties: Organisation, planning, time management, documentation, and stock control; working alongside my team members in a fast and efficient manner, from dealing with stock transfers in and out of the warehouse, to packing and dispatching orders, and customer refunds. Communicating with other departments across the company to ensure everyone knows what is needed of them.

November 2021 – September 2023, then June 2024 – October 2024: Part Time Groom at PK Stud

Duties: This job entailed all general yard duties, show and sales preparation, assisting the vet, liaising with paraprofessionals, working with youngsters, broodmares, foals, and established showjumping horses, working as a team and alone in a busy atmosphere.

September 2023 – April 2024: Yard Manager/Head Girl at Banisters – Private Dressage Yard

Duties: Post graduation, I was promoted from part time to the full-time head groom position, working alone to manage top dressage horses competing at PSG and Inter 1, as well as caring for non-ridden animals. The role involved organisation of veterinary care and paraprofessionals, liaising with other industry professionals to maximise the welfare of the horses, creating and maintaining feeding plans to suit each horse’s individual needs, yard maintenance, show preparation including clipping, plaiting, first aid, exercising the horses in work, and overall ensuring the smooth running of the yard.

August 2019 – September 2023: Part Time Groom at Banisters – Private Dressage Yard

Duties: After successfully completing work experience, I was kept on part time with work including all general yard duties, riding and lungeing advanced dressage horses, show preparation and first aid. In this role I have worked under the guidance of the head groom, as well as taking on sole management of the yard. I routinely worked Sunday afternoons and covered the head groom’s days off when necessary.

November 2020 – November 2021: Sunday Morning Groom at Brocks Riding School & Livery

Duties: This role was completed Sunday morning and included mucking out, turning out and general yard duties.

October 2016 – March 2017: Indigo Rye Hair Salon

Duties: This included washing hair, making tea/coffee, sweeping the floor, ensuring that the salon was always clean and tidy and that the customers had everything they needed during their appointment.

Additionally, I frequently helped in the running of ‘pony day/camp’ at Bradfield Riding Centre. This included organisation of children, ensuring health and safety, teaching them about equine health and welfare, and assisting in the running of games.
