Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I have 17 years experience with horses, i have grown up around them and owned my own. I have worked on different yards from riding schools to a rehabilitation livery yard. I have been in education for 4 years on an Equine behaviour and welfare course and an animal management course at Sparsholt college, this gave me lots of education in the feed and nutrition of horses, biological systems of horses, horse behaviour and welfare, the principles of fitness and more knowledge on riding on the flat. I have began house sitting which involves the care of various different animals which includes horses. I am looking for a yard job which could include riding but this is not mandatory.

Sole management of a livery yard in Andover when the yard owner is away, this included turning out/ bringing in, lunging and occasional riding, general yard duties, I also covered hours and days last minute.

Helped out at a riding school helping taking children out leading from another horse, bringing in/ turning out and the general yard duties that entails.

Volunteered at a British Dressage show at Sparsholt college, helped set up the event, directed people to their lorry spaces and showing them to their allocated stable.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I am good at working alone or with others in a team, i am good with instructions and routine. My other skill are general yard duties, clipping to a degree, handling different types of horses.
