Experience with Horses
Have ridden, owned and worked with horses for over 20 years, competing in endurance, dressage and trec. I have competed in endurance up to 80km and crewed with team GB in Fontainebleu and Madine. Currently I am a house sitter, looking after endurance properties whilst their owners are on holiday and keeping their horses exercised so that they are fit enough to compete on their owners return.
Key Skills
I am comfortable taking sole charge of large estates and managing tradesmen and visitors as well as overseeing all animals including horses, sheep, alpacas, chickens, dogs and more. I provide holiday cover for commercial catteries too, managing all the bookings, collections, drop offs and providing daily customer updates to all customers while their cats are on holiday. I am confident jumping in at the deep end and using my business acumen and management skills where needed.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• My ridden work is only hacking at the moment and I’d like the opportunity to improve my riding position as invariably these things need constant work or bad habits creep in
I’m used to dealing with all manner of crises now and over the last few years have managed everything from sheep getting caught in fencing, horses bolting through their electric fencing, chickens escaping down the road, dogs destroying all sorts of things they shouldn’t, rats chewing through the boiler power cable, a parrot that got scared in a thunderstorm and more! It means I’m easy going and calm in situations
Requirements
I’m looking for a permanent live in role where I don’t need to keep moving house every week as after two years, I’m finding the constant moving a strain
