Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I have been riding since I was 4 (now 20) volunteered at a riding school from age 12 to 18. I have also done 3 years of equine management at Brooksby Melton college, where I was in the squad team riding. This includes the day- to – day care of horses, first aid, bandages, clipping, loading, show turnout, schooling on the flat and over jumps, pole work, lunging, long reining, in hand, nutrition, health and disease (worms, EHV, strangles, influenza etc), structure form and function of the horse, and much more.

while I was volunteering at a riding school I helped set up for their dressage competitions and clear rounds, whiles competing in the clear rounds myself. I have also competed in unaffiliated show jumping at a rage of fences and have use these as training rounds for the horses to learn. Another role I played was helping/teaching the younger trainees to tack up, day to day care, tack clean, how to safely lead and work around horses, leading the beginner riders and helping them understand what to do, and much more.

Regarding the BHS Stages I have completed my stage 1 and looking at completing my stage 2 and more. I am also going to be doing a course to further my knowledge on equine first aid. On top of this I am very interested in getting my HGV licence. Also very happy to learn how to dive a Tractor and get my Tractor license.
