Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I am an extremely capable horse rider, with over 10 years of riding experience including jumping, hacking out and flat work. I currently have a private part loan of a horse and am regularly asked to care for other horses at the stables.
I am due to finish my animal management level 3 extended technical diploma, as part of which I have taken the opportunity to complete a year’s work placement at a busy working stables where I carried out all relevant groom’s duties in addition to supporting lessons/workshops with children. I have also spent my second year continuing to work with horses in an animal rescue context and also within a dairy farm.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
As part of my course, I have gained valuable transferable skills in the management of animals and relevant legislation, including administering medication and the welfare and care. I am extremely confident in working independently and taking initiative and I am passionate about horses and building a career with them. I excel at practical work and am willing to work hard and continue to develop and gain knowledge.
A further hobby of mine is jiu jitsu – I have achieved black belt and am therefore physically fit with no limitations.
