August 2023 to date. Groom at a School – The yard is BHS approved meaning I have to work to the best of my ability at all times. On a daily basis I have 4-5 horses to muck out and care for throughout the day. Including bathing, plaiting, grooming, clipping, turning out and exercising when the children are unable to do so. There are mainly competition horses, therefore I am used to handling large and fit horses. I have a high standard to uphold therefore I am used to working under pressure and at industry speed.
Personal statement
I am a self-motivated and hardworking team player who is passionate about horses and keen to start a career in the equine industry. I am looking for a position where I can develop both my practical skills and understanding of horses and where I can get support in obtaining further qualifications to progress my career within the industry.
Since the age of 4, horses have been a huge part of my life. I have competed in many shows, mainly show jumping but also cross country, dressage and showing. I have recently started riding racehorses and helping at the meets which has been an incredible experience, as it is extremely different to any other discipline I have taken part in. I have experience of working within a range of equestrian settings including racing yard, commercial livery yard, private yard and with a wide variety of horses and ponies. I am highly competent in all areas of stable management, with strong communication skills and many years of experience both riding and caring for horses and ponies.
