Experience with Horses
I have been around horses for 4 years, I have loaned and ridden at wapley riding school and then moved on to loan at a DIY Yard, I have worked at Wapley and CS williams yard.
I had brought my own 3 year old welsh d mare myself who is now 5 and 15.2h. On my current yard I do all the usually twice a day duties mainly unattended as my family are not horsey, I only get my dad to come up to fix things.
I have broken in a couple of horses at my current yard, also helped exercise and taken to some shows.
I have experience in lunging and using a walker
Key Skills
I am particularly good at working alone.
I own a few pairs of clippers so I have had a lot of experience in clipping, I can plait, have done a few in hand shows, I have handled stallions however I do fined this the most challenging.
I have plenty of experience with handling, riding, and loading of young horses .
I have one hour lesson a week of dressage or pole, I try to have 1 jump lesson a month.
I make sure I hack at least twice a week and lunge/ long rein once a week, I always make sure I give 2 days off for her to process what has been done.
I am in my local pony club where I have completed all badges I have been offered .
Strengths and Weaknesses
- I enjoy spending time with the horses, and watching equine videos
- I would like to improve my knowledge on the body language of horse.
- I go to bed at 8.30pm every evening so I can be at the yard at 6.30am every morning, I do not like to be late.
- I do not socialise outside of the horse world.
Requirements
- I would like to work with horses that are given 100% care.
- I would not like to be more then 20mins drive away from the yard where my mare is kept as she is my life, ideally I would like her to stay at the yard where I work.
