Experience with Horses
I have previously completed basic yard work for an eventer age 16 (e.g poo picking, mucking out and turning horses in and out) as well as having owned and produced my pony for 5 years throughout school and sixth form. I now currently have a a job waitressing at a cafe whilst I have completed A levels. At the end of the exam season and summer I am seeking a full or part time job on a yard either to live in or out, as a working pupil position to gain experience in the equestrian industry as a groom completing a wide variety of tasks.
Key Skills
Due to working as a waitress I have very good communication skills, I am friendly and work well as part of a team- listening to others and cooperating. I have limited experience grooming on a professional yard, however i am willing to learn as part of a working pupil position. I am extremely confident around a wide variety of horses and ponies and have good handling skills and knowledge of equines. I also have completed BHS stage 1.
I thrive working in a group or team environment and being outdoors completely takes to a high standard.
I aim to learn and further my knowledge of equestrian grooming skills e.g plaiting, clipping etc
•I would ideally like a live in position however would consider a live out at home if the commute was not too far. I would also like to bring my horse with me if that was a possibility.
