Experience with Horses

I have 4 years of solid experience with horses ranging from riding school ponies to high strung event horses to plod along happy ponies to youngstock and broodmares to heavy, big hunt horses. I have experience teaching walk, trot, canter on/off lunge kids, also lead rein beginners too.

I would describe myself as a competent, confident but over self critical and very ocassionally nervous rider BUT always willing to try and persevere through this. I have more experiance exercising ponies (liveries or riding school) than I do bigger horses, although recently have started exercising bigger, stronger hunt horses out on hacks.

I have experience lunging/long reining and using the horse walker with horses. I am used to turning horses out along main roads, hacking straight out onto main roads and I understand the saftey precautions that are needed when doing so. Hi – zis etc.

I have experience deciding what rugs to put on the horses in different weather conditions, hoof boots, field boots, bug boots, muzzles etc and the reasons for using these in each season.

What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I enjoy most watching them train throughout the week to go and compete at the weekend and the horses going really well and doing well at competitions.

Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to improve my confience in riding larger horses, it is getting there but I need that extra push.

Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
