Experience with Horses
My experience is quite broad. I began riding when I was six years old and had my own horse by the time I was ten. From the age of fourteen, I worked for a private yard and stud in Italy. My background is rooted in traditional English equestrian practices, and I have trained german warmblood horses for show jumping and dressage. I primarily worked with young horses, aged five to six years, teaching them the basics. Later on, I ventured into the western discipline, focusing on horsemanship and groundwork.
I worked for a top rider in Italy as a groom and rider, but eventually decided to move to the UK to further develop my career in an environment where the culture aligns more closely with animal welfare. In order to validate my skills on an international level, I chose to pursue formal qualifications. After completing a few courses, I embarked on the British Horse Society (BHS) career pathway, aiming for international recognition.
I currently have two horses of my own, which I intend to keep where they are, so I am seeking a job that allows me to commute by car and does not require live-in arrangements.
At this stage, I am looking to transition into a more stable job, rather than continuing with freelance work as needed. I am nearing the completion of my career goals, and while I will continue with training, I am satisfied with what I have achieved over the past years.
Key Skills
My key skills include handling and riding young horses, groundwork, behavioural training, rehabilitation and returning to work, recognising health issues, administering basic health treatments, recognising behavioural signals, equine nutrition, coaching skills, and leadership
