Experience with horses
I am currently a British Horse Society (BHS) Stage 3 Equestrian Staff Member at New Hall School.
I am hardworking and reliable with experience working in a fast-paced yards, completing daily tasks to a high standard.
I started my equine career at 16 having an apprenticeship at a racing yard. I would do everything from mucking out to exercising the horses and going to the races.
I then went into an equestrian school where I went on to do all my BHS exams and refined a lot of skills that I wouldn’t get from the racing industry.
This then gave me the opportunity of working for the Metropolitan police mounted branch. I looked after sick horses and followed rehab programs and also got invoked in the training of young horses.
Key Skills
I have the ability to work within a team and independently, whilst being flexible and managing my time effectively.
I am confident in
- schooling
- clipping
- lunging
- first aid
- Long reining
- bandaging
Strengths and Weaknesses
I have a passion for working alongside horses and I am hoping to enhance my skills, take on new challenges and further progress within my career in the Equine Industry.
I am still learning everyday and there is lots I haven’t done so am just hoping to find a place that is happy to support me in my development.
Requirements
I would like to progress along my BHS stages and further my coaching skills.
I ideally would need accommodation but not required if the job is suitable.
I also have a rescue cat and a lovely little Bedlington puppy.
