Experience with Horses
I currently work as a Head Groom/Rider on a busy mixed livery yard which caters to everybody from happy hackers and retirees to competition horses and the odd youngster. I previously did my level 2 and level 3 Horse care and riding at this yard and stayed on to help while the owner had some health problems. I am now getting ready to move forwards with my career.
Key Skills
I am confident working alone or within a team with good time management and pride myself on my attention to detail. I can do all normal yard duties and also clipping, trimming, bandaging and turning out for shows. I have competed to Elementary BD but can school to Advanced Medium dressage. I also have experience riding on young or green horses including off the track race horses. I also enjoy using in hand ground work to improve horses core strength and balance. I can lunge and long rein.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• I love looking after healthy and happy horses who are unlocking their potential.
• I would like to gain more experience working with competition horses and or young stock.
Requirements
• I would like to gain more experience working with and riding competition horses, particularly in dressage.
• I would need to live in unless based in Cheshire.
• I need to bring one well behaved gelding with me.
• I would need to give my current employers notice before leaving.
