PERSONAL PROFILE
Currently the Yard Manager of a long established and leading Equestrian Livery yard in Cheshire.
I am an enthusiastic, hardworking team player with excellent communication skills.
Having turned my hobby into my career I feel I am now ready to take on a new challenge and turn my equestrian lifestyle back into being a hobby.
I am flexible, friendly and a quick learner who thrives on being busy.
Over the past few years being the manager I have gained confidence in dealing with customers face to face and over the phone and handling both positive and negative feedback.
Caring for animals, managing staff means no day is the same which has enabled me to become good at multi-tasking and prioritisation.
EXPERIENCE
SEPTEMBER 2022 – CURRENT
EQUESTRIAN YARD MANAGER, SOMERFORD PARK FARM
As yard manager I am responsible for the day to day running of a long established and leading equestrian livery yard.
This role involves catering for the individual needs of over 40 horses to provide the upmost care and attention as if they were my own horses.
Along side caring for the horses I also manage a team of 4 people to ensure the yard is staffed accordingly which involves managing people and the organising Rota’s to ensure the yard is fully staffed 365 days of the year.
Day to day duties consist of communicating to customers face to face, email , text message, over the phone and also managing customer requirements through a mobile app. Customers log their horse care requirements each day which I communicate with my team to ensure all requests are fulfilled.
It is a very labour intense job which involves heavy lifting, handling and riding horses and a lot of walking!
SEPTEMBER 2020 – 2022
EQUESTRIAN RE HABILITATION MANAGER – HIGHER FARM EQUINE THERAPY
Working in the family run business to open and grow the Equestrian Re Habilitation therapy unit.
Duties included caring for horses post-surgery, horses on a re habilitation treatment plan which involved following very detailed instructions from both the customer or the vet to support the horse in making a full recovery.
On a daily basis their treatment consisted of water treadmill sessions, following strict turn out routines, closely working with the vets for checkups and organising the necessary physio , vet appointments on behalf of the customer.
Providing feedback and reports back to the customer after the vet visits.

EQUESTRIAN LIVERY YARD STAFF MEMBER – SOMERFORD PARK FARM
From being a very young age horses have always been my passion.
Upon leaving school I decided I wanted to follow my passion and work with horses as a start in my career path.
I joined the equestrian livery yard team as a staff member caring for around 40 horses on a daily basis.
A very manual intense job including mucking out, turning out and bringing the horses from the field, feeding and day to day care.
JANUARY 2018 – JANUARY 2019
WAITRESS – EGERTON ARMS, CHELFORD.
Duties included face to face customer service making table reservations, table service taking food and drinks orders.
Clearing the tables and setting up ready for the next walk in or table reservation.
Communicating with front of house and kitchen staff.
