Having grown up riding and taking care of horses since the age of 5, I am a confident and capable rider and groom. I have experience riding, turning out and producing race horses (national hunt), show horses, hunt horses and more. Additionally, I have worked for non-yard based equine companies in a marketing and promotion capacity. Including working as the Marketing Manager for Lister Shearing Equipment Ltd., a manufacturer of clippers and blades.

 

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I am a capable rider, I am confident with young horses through to more experienced professional types. I am confident working alone and as part of a team. I can clip, plait, pull, turn out, ride, muck out etc., and I have a working knowledge of equine first aid.

Off the yard I am an organised and effective communications specialist and negotiator with experience utilising social media and AI to improve business efficiency.

I am a qualified Team Manager and Scrum Master and I am versed in coordinating high profile projects with diverse teams and resources.

 

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I enjoy being outside and getting to know every horse’s personality. I like learning about a horse and adjusting my practices over time to get the most out of them. I particularly enjoy ‘project horses’ or horses that need extra TLC for them to come out of their shell.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I’d like to extend and improve my knowledge of equine health, particularly muscular-skeletal knowledge and how to care for specialist issues.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am diligent, multifaceted and I can make the most out of any situation. I am a reliable, fast thinking problem solver with excellent communication skills and the skills to build and improve your business.

Requirements

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?

I would like to spend time outside or with horses with regular projects or problems to solve (not necessarily equine!). Riding is not essential but being in the company of horses is important to me. Ideally, I would like to find a job with some office work so that I can utilise my other skills and/or help to enhance the company. This includes using digital technology to make life easier for the team and, ultimately, my employer.

• Do you need accommodation?

It would be preferable. This would need to be for two people – my partner (a gardener/grounds keeper who is also looking for a job) and I

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

I have a well behaved Jack Russell called Alfie. Alfie is child friendly. I would like to be able to bring Alfie to work with me but this is not essential.

• Do you have any ongoing commitments?

I am committed during the week until 3rd March.
