Experience with Horses
I’ve worked with horses for the past 5 years, completing an 2 year apprenticeship as a Level 2 Equine Groom. Working on a variety of yards from riding schools to stud yards. Ive had both sole yard responsibilities & worked in a team. Loving both aspects of these. Ive worked with a wide range of horses, from working with foals and stallions to producing youngsters and competition horses. I’m a motivated young lady who always keeps a smile on her face no matter what and is dedicated to ensuring the correct welfare for all of the horses. Ive had a lot of experience in being a show groom and the preparation for all this, alongside backing and breaking youngsters.
Key Skills
My skills are a wide range, including: riding, handling (stallions & young-stock), breeding necessities/duties, breaking youngsters, lunging, long reining, plaiting, bathing, clipping, show/competition turn out, working both solely and as part of a team, all normal yard duties, quad bike driving.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I enjoy how rewarding it is and how much peace it brings me, I truly love it. Every day can be different, but that’s the magical thing about it!
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I’d like to improve my riding skills, as the past year I’ve mainly been doing stud work recently & would like to go back to competing myself!
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I’m very reliable and very much a joy to be around. I can make any situation into a calm manner, as well as a being highly organised with an ongoing ‘can – do’ attitude. I always give things a good go and attempt, but i’m not afraid to ask for help when I need it 🙂
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
A-bit more responsibility and a wider range of opportunities, but on top of all that id love to produce some more youngsters/horses.
• Do you need accommodation?
Yes please. Nor fussy or difficult to live with. I’m clean, tidy and keep myself to myself unless of course anybody wants a chat! 🙂
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
Nope, as of now I wont be bringing any with me.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
Nope 🙂
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
Nope, free schedule.
