Experience with Horses
For the last 3 years, have worked at a top-level professional dressage yard, where I both groomed and rode. There was a wide range of horses from youngsters to schoolmasters. I broke in a couple of young dressage horses as well as rode the older ones. I undertook a variety of yard jobs, both as part of a team and sole-charge.
I was also head stud groom at a dressage breeding yard, assisted with all aspects of foaling of around 20-30 mares each year. Competent foal and young stock handler.
Previously worked at a race yard, where I rode out all the racehorse daily, as well as cared for them and traveled to race days. I was a travel groom and went to France and Ireland on stay-aways to groom the racehorses.
Have worked at a busy riding school, teaching children and adults to ride as well as teaching them horse management. I also was riding and competing the riding school horses successfully.
Have owned many of my own horses from eventers to ex-racers. Have competed my own horses successfully up to Elementary, but mainly focused on the bringing/retraining.
