Experience with horses
I have nearly 2 decades worth of experience caring for and maintaining a small dressage yard at home. Horses have always been my passion and I am very enthusiastic about the work I produce both in terms of horse care and high standards of turnout. I have experience with a wide variety of horse from very green youngsters to schoolmasters. In recent times I have worked on a busy showjumping sales yard producing and preparing young horses for competition and future homes. Alongside this I have competed for my university riding a wide variety of horses in dressage, showjumping and polo.
Key Skills
I am well equipped to handle youngsters and green horses. I am very capable of producing high standards of turnout including plaiting, clipping and all aspects of grooming. In my experience I am fortunate enough to have encountered a wide variety of personalities within horses and I have the skillset to handle all situations put in my direction and do so with confidence and care.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• I love getting to know each horses individual personality and understand how to care for them and teach them appropriately.
• I am always looking to improve my around knowledge of horses. I am never done learning and I feel there are always new skills and techniques I can learn from new experiences.
• I am hardworking and dedicated to my job. I have a huge love for horses and getting them to reach their full capability, whilst maintaining a truly high standard of care, compassion and understanding. I will always put horses and the job at hand first, ensuring high standards along the way.
Requirements
• In my next job I would love to have a more hands on role to development and education of horses in their schooling and general exercise regimen. I love producing and educating horses in all aspects, particularly schooling and competition.
• I would need accommodation in a job.
• I may bring a horse with me. However, that is very much up for negotiation depending on the role and availability. I still have my yard at home so my horse will have a place to be if I moved away! If there were opportunity to bring him with me that would be amazing but it’s not a dealbreaker.
• I am currently a final year university student so I will be available from May, but from that point onwards I am fully available to work.
