I have over 30 years of experience in horse riding, training, and care, with a strong background in natural horsemanship, liberty work, eventing, and racehorse training. My professional equine experience spans multiple countries and disciplines:

  • Dart Stables (New Zealand, 2013-2014): Ride Leader – guided treks through challenging terrain, ensured horse and rider safety, and managed customer experiences.
  • Ecuries de la Nobo (New Caledonia, 2014): Racehorse groom– handled and exercised young racehorses, prepared them for races, liaised with the vet on a regular basis and implemented training programs.
  • Ride in Cyprus (Cyprus, 2015-2017): Operations Manager & Ride Leader – led horse trekking expeditions, managed horse care, trained staff, and maintained equipment.
  • Cradle Mountain Adventures (Australia, 2017-2018): Ride Leader – conducted multi-day treks through Tasmania’s wilderness, cared for horses, and provided high quality customer service.

I am currently enrolled as a trainee in the Masterson Method Equine Bodywork (2025) and have completed an Introduction to Equine Bodywork (2024).

Key Skills

  • Equine Handling & Training: Experience with young horses, racehorses, and trekking horses, using natural horsemanship techniques.
  • Ride Leadership & Customer Service: Extensive experience guiding treks and ensuring rider safety, comfort, and enjoyment.
  • Horse Care & Management: Feeding, grooming, first aid, injury care, and conditioning.
  • Event Preparation: Plaiting, clipping, turnout, and general show prep.
  • Freelance Services: Equine Reiki healing, animal communication, and soon-to-be certified equine bodywork.
  • Other Skills: Working independently and as part of a team, strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and multilingual communication (French, English, Spanish, Italian).

Strengths and Weaknesses

What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I love forming deep connections with horses, understanding their personalities, and helping them feel and perform at their best. I also enjoy guiding riders, whether on treks or in training, and ensuring positive experiences for both horses and humans.

Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I am always looking to expand my knowledge of equine biomechanics, rehabilitation, and alternative therapies. My focus for 2025 is becoming a certified Masterson Method equine bodyworker to help horses release tension and improve movement.

Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
My experience across multiple equine industries and countries has given me adaptability, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of horse behavior. I bring a unique combination of technical skills, intuition, and customer service expertise.

Requirements

What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I aim to transition into equine bodywork, focusing on helping horses improve their well-being. I am open to positions involving training, rehabilitation, or holistic equine care.

Do you need accommodation?
Not necessarily, but it would be considered depending on location.

Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
I have three rabbits, but they do not require special accommodation.

Do you have any ongoing commitments?
I work part-time at a veterinary practice and am training for my half-marathon in October 2025.

Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
No holidays booked at the moment.
