Experience with Horses
I have roughly 4 years experience with horses, I have tonnes of confidence on the ground when it comes to the difficult or stronger horses to handle I have dealt with horses the drag, rear, and kickers, I can muck out, turn out, bring in, hang and fill haynets, poo pick etc. I can plait tails but still need a slight bit of guidance but I am more than happy to learn I have plaited manes before but again need showing how to do it as mine never turn out good, I have clipped in the past I have done a trace clip, a full clip and hunter clips, but need showing further in this area as none of them were perfect, when it comes to riding I am confident in walk, trot, canter, and gallop, I am confident hacking out and schooling, i struggle with jumping but again its nothing I’m not willing to learn!!
Key Skills
I see my key skills as mainly ground work, such as lunging, long reining, and handling horses as well as yard duties such as mucking out and haynets, I am competent when it comes to riding although I will doubt myself and never big my riding up!
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I love just being around them being on a yard with horses is what makes me the happiest so I wouldn’t see working with them as a job!
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
clipping, plaiting and possibly riding but I’ve never been one to prioritise riding over every other aspect of horses
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am incredibly hard working I’d rather get through the work than stand in the tack room talking and on my phone all day, I will forever take constructive criticism and use it to improve to the best of my ability
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I’m not looking to gain anything but I am looking for a mainly yard job based work with the opportunity to ride!
• Do you need accommodation?
Yes I would need accommodation
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
I have 1 dog I would love to bring but he doesn’t have to come, but he would need an outdoor space away from horses as he is deaf I have never fully trusted him around horses so not sure how he would act
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
27th October 2025 – 8th December 2025
