Experience with Horses

I have had my own horses since a very young age and simply cannot remember my life without them. I have previously worked on a volunteer basis at a livery and liberty yard for around 6 months, as well as working on several other typical livery yards. I’m currently at an equine college completing a Level 3 Technical Diploma in Equine Management. I have experience in exercising all different types of horses from Mounted Games ponies, to retraining OOTBs, to bringing green horses back into work to retrain them.

Key Skills

• I work well on my own or in a team.
• Handling youngsters and green horses in a calm yet firm manner.

• Riding and exercising horses and ponies of all disciplines and abilities.

• Plaiting up to a high standard.

• Bandaging and poulticing.

• I am a very approachable and friendly character.

• Very resilient and would give any task put in front of me my best .

Strengths and Weaknesses

•  I enjoy working outside and with my hands compared to sat behind a desk in an office or classroom.

• I’d like to improve my clipping skills, only because I take my time perfecting every line and haven’t had the opportunity to clip many horses.

• I am a very resilient, driven character who would give anything a go. I am not easily phased and I am very confident working with horses on the ground or ridden. I am extremely self-motivated and eager to learn new skills.

Requirements

• More experience working professionally on a yard or just generally with horses.

•  Depends on how far away the location is.
