Experience with Horses
I have been riding all my life and am looking to make a career out of it. I have been producing my own horses/ponies since I was 10 and have worked in a hunt master’s yard, a 5* event yard as well as doing freelance riding, grooming and yard work. I have broken young horses and am currently retraining my own ex-racehorse to event.
Key Skills
I am highly competent at mucking out, yard work, handling and riding all ages/types of horse, plaiting, lunging, cleaning tack etc. I am happy working alone, but equally enjoy working within a team. I am organized, hard-working, good at time management and dedicated.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I find working with horses incredibly rewarding as well as grounding. When something goes well it’s because you’ve truly created a partnership and taught them properly. Equally, it can go wrong at any second! I also love being outside and am highly competitive so really enjoy those aspects as well.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I want to improve my overall knowledge and experience both on the ground and on a horse.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am an incredibly hard worker – if you tell me how you want something done, I will make sure it is done well and as quickly as possible. I am efficient, dedicated and love being around horses.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
Riding is an absolute must for me – preferably there would be some growth opportunity in as much as there could be the possibility of competing but I am happy with just hacking if that is what’s on offer
