Experience with Horses
I have worked for professional event riders and dressage riders as travelling groom and home groom too. I took the step to become freelance just before covid and took on horses for backing and schooling on as well as yard work and holiday cover, clipping & grooming etc.
Most recently I have been managing a BHS accredited riding school and training yard. This riding school has almost doubled in size since I have worked there and I have been involved in all aspects of team management, stick ordering, loading with outside professionals, lessons, coaching and training our apprentices.
I am happy working with Youngstock, having worked for a short period at a race stud, have helped tease and cover mares also.
happy handling stallions and for competitions stock also.
I enjoy riding and low level competition myself on my own horse that I have produced (with help) from a two year old.
Key Skills
I believe I have good personal skills and a good sense of humour- able to make feel comfortable. Really like working in a good strong team. Happy to do sole charge- but prefer team work.
Love organising and feeling like I can take the mental load off of people that require it.
Like seeing progress and enjoy all aspects of competition including all prep.
interested in learning more all the time.
Strengths and Weaknesses
•I enjoy taking care of horses and helping be part of a team to encourage the best from them.
• I would love to try working in new sectors of the industry
•I’m very enthusiastic and hard working- take my work seriously with a good sense of humour.
Requirements
•Would ideally like to gain further knowledge and experience- am very much if the thinking that there is more than one way to get a job done. Qualifications would be great fun to do more if opportunities arise.
• I do require car friendly accommodation and livery for two horses.
• Don’t have children or partner
