Eligible for a UK skilled worker visa under job number 6129!
I began riding as a small child with a focus on vaulting, eventing, and western disciplines. I also have experience in hunter/jumpers.
I began my equine career as a camp counselor and stable hand. Most recently I’ve pursued training in fascia release and equine massage to complement my work as a groom and serve my local horse community. I am competent in all stable duties, including clipping, plaiting/pulling, lunging, hacking out, and ground work.
Recently was sole charge for private client’s CDI dressage horses while at a show.
Key Skills
I am great at working with a team, and enjoy the camaraderie of a barn environment. From the elderly, to teens and children, I am easy to get along with. I can also work independently if the job requires sole charge.
I specialize in understanding what the horses need as their caretaker and massage therapist. I easily connect to horses emotionally and have been able to turn this connection into liberty work/play with a number of horses.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
The horses themselves are the reward. Horses ask us to reflect upon ourselves and witnessing that reflection in the owners and riders is also very rewarding.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I am always looking for ways to improve as an equestrian. Any chance to ride consistently would be welcomed. Continuing to develop and hone my show turn out is also top of mind.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am reliable and have a true talent for connecting with horses. I have very high tack maintenance standards, and that attention to detail serves me well in a show environment. I am a natural problem solver, and can fix almost anything (handy with tools, etc.)
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would love to groom at more international shows. I am also looking for stability and long-term growth potential. Want me to haul a trailer? I’d love to learn. Need someone to operate a tractor? I would also love to learn this as well.
• Do you need accommodation?
Yes. Or help finding local accommodations.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
I have two indoor cats that I would like to bring with me. If there is future opportunity to bring in a horse, I would like that as well. Own horse is not a deal breaker, as I do not currently own or lease.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
I am currently working part-time and have freelance massage clients that I would need to wrap up. Otherwise, I do not have an employment contract.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
No, not currently.
