Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Yearling/Yard Manager to join our team and oversee the care, development, and handling of our young horses. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with a strong background in equine care and a passion for bringing on the next generation of athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of staff. Assign duties, provide training, and conduct performance reviews.
- Horse Management: Oversee the daily care of all horses, including grooming, feeding and ensuring their health and well-being. Manage horse workloads to ensure their wellbeing.
- Yard Maintenance: Maintain a clean and tidy yard environment, ensuring all equipment is in good working order and the yard is presented to a high standard.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all horse activities, including vet records, farrier visits, and rider information.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience working with yearlings or young horses
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Confident in handling young, spirited horses
- Knowledge of equine health, feeding, and conditioning
- High standards of care, cleanliness, and safety
- Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented
