Experience with Horses
Over 30 years experience, 23 of which in employment/freelancing.
Starting at a riding centre straight after leaving school, progressing quite quickly over the years up to international showjumping where I had the opportunity to groom in a few different countries furthering my knowledge and experience greatly.
I have vast experience with top level horses from youngsters to grade A’s, Mainly having had sole charge of the yards I have been on, forming great relationships with the yard owners/riders and with the horses under my care.
I take my role very seriously and provide the very best of care to all horses, attention to detail is a priority, I have extremely high standards of work both on the yard and the horses themselves and take great pride in this.
Key Skills
Sole charge but also work well with a small team, high standard of turn out on a daily basis at home or away, able to deal with youngsters as well as top level competition horses, quick work pace, attention to detail, organised, able to deal with farrier/vet/owners/hay,bedding,feed orders and deliveries, maintaining a well organised/tidied yard, reliable, trustworthy, honest and hardworking.
Requirements
I am a live out groom I do not require accommodation.
I do require specific hours as I have 2 children, however they are older (14 and 10) which allows me commit to requirements agreed.
