Experience with Horses

i have been riding since I was 5 years old, I have competed BSJA up to 1.10m and schooled over 1.25m. I have owned 6 horses and still have 2 of them at home in Spain. I have worked with children from the ages of 3-17 both in an educational environment and an equine environment. Currently I work as a rider/trainer (formal title equestrian assistant) at Coworth Park Ascot. Previously I have some work experience on a racing yard as holiday cover for two weeks exercising the horses. I have worked in the USA on a ranch camp as part time store manager and part time riding instructor. I can ride dressage up to novice and have ridden cross country up to BE 90.

Key Skills

I am very adaptable, I work very well alone or in a team, I plait, clip, turn out to a high standard, jump, school, hack alone or in company, teach, groom. Most things horsey I can do to a high standard. I love working with young horses both on the ground and in the saddle and giving them the confidence to move forward and learn.

I can also bake very well so my coworkers are always happy to see me coming!

Strengths and Weaknesses

• I love making connections with horses, each one is different and unique so I enjoy getting to know their personalities and adjusting the training I provide to their individual needs. I’m brave and will sit on just about anything, jumping is my passion.

• It’s horses! I am always learning and improving and there is always more to figure out, I would specifically like to work on my dressage riding as I know all good horses need a solid dressage foundation to build on.

• I am determined, loyal, hardworking and friendly. I do not give up easily, no horse or person are too difficult or green. We all need a chance to prove ourselves. I am a very committed person so when I find a place that I am happy and valued I am there for a long time.

Requirements

• Riding- it is such an important part for me, it allows me to gain a better understanding of the horses I am working with as well as keep improving myself.

• Do you need accommodation? Yes.

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you? I would appreciate being able to stable a horse there as I would like to get into producing.

• Do you have any ongoing commitments? My current employment.

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?

No however I will want to travel to see my family at least twice a year.
