Experience with Horses
i have had horses for over 10 years. worked on livery yards with a team, show jumping yard solely going out to competitions across England. and a rescue yard, this come with seeing everything from mares in foal to very malnourished horses. working with all types of horses and doing all jobs and riding work, long reining, lunging, putting horses on the walked, riding, hacking out. I can bandage, wrap, boot up, all types of horses, work in very close contact with vets and farriers so anything that needs to be done including poulticing and assisting the vet is a second nature to me.
Key Skills
i can work on my own and part as a team. I work good on my own ad can get anything completed that needs to be done and very efficiently. I am a very clean and organised person so everything always looks presentable. I am good at working with young and nervous horses, aswell as working with strong minded horses and can come to a compromise with what we achieve.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• I enjoy seeing a bond that has grown with horses and how they will come to a compromise when asked, as well as keeping everything clean and tidy, making work much more efficient
• i would like to improve my clipping ad plaiting skills as i have never had to do this to a professional manor, working on a rescue yard most of our clips are done for welfare reasons on not the most healthy horses so the main goal is a comfortable and happy horse.
• I am a veery tidy and efficient person and always keep the horses health in my best interest. I am up to trying and doing anything even when i haven’t done it before and am not the most sure in what i am doing, i will voice my concerns and ask for help when needed.
Requirements
• Learning new things and going out grooming at competitions whilst learning and growing my skills
• A live in position for me and my horse would be needed and possibly my dog
• No, my horse hugo can live in or out, time to spend with him and ride after work is a must as he is still young and learning, hay and stabling included would be a bonus
