Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I am looking for an equine based job, I have been riding and involved with horses from a very young age, started riding seriously about 12 years ago.
I have over three years of hands-on experience working with high-level competition horses in both driving and eventing. I worked two international show seasons with Australian driver Tor van den Berge, where I was responsible for grooming, handling fresh and fit FEI horses, packing and organising for travel, and preparing horses for competition, including plaiting and turnout. This role involved attending top-level shows such as CHIO Aachen and the World Cup at Pratoni del Vivaro.
In the summer of 2023, I worked full-time for Olympic eventer Janneke Boonzaaijer, where I managed daily yard duties, prepared horses for training and competitions, and assisted with flatwork.
As a rider, I compete in eventing at an intermediate level and also train young showjumpers for a local breeder. I have experience backing young horses for owners in my area, which has helped me develop patience, confidence, and a strong understanding of horse behavior and development.
I’m organised, reliable, and passionate about horse care and performance. Whether it’s daily yard work, competition preparation, or riding, I always strive to give horses the best care possible and enjoy working as part of a motivated team.

Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I love working with purpose—caring for them, helping them perform at their best, and being part of their journey, whether that’s in training or at competition. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a horse thrive under your care.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I’d love to continue growing my skills by gaining experience in different disciplines of grooming. I’m always eager to learn more, especially from other professionals, and adapt to new environments and systems.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I’m extremely hard-working, passionate, and a strong team player. I care deeply about the well-being of every horse and treat them as if they were my own. I’m organised, reliable, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure horses are cared for to the highest standard.
